Jo Pudelko

My current work has been inspired by the world situation of the bee population, especially by the news of perplexed French beekeepers when their beehives started producing bright blue honey. For some reason their bees had been fed waste produced by a local pastry factory. This unusual honey had to be unfortunately discarded as it did not meet French dietary standards. Using this event as a modern parable, my pieces represent a dystopian future of modern consumerist "nature" - imagining what the world might look like if bees stopped collecting pollen and focused on collecting consumer goods bright. I think of my pieces as "bad honey" - a vibrant disenchantment of nature versus man
